These resources are for use in GCSE/Junior Cycle Classes. There are 3 different sheets, each one representing a Halloween character in which students are asked to write about the character. To help there are a series of questions and also a box for key words. I have a low ability class so we scaffolded everything on the board first and they filled in their key word box before they began the task. This wee booklet is good for vocabulary acquisition. Rather than giving students list of vocabulary and getting them to use it or just learn it, I like to scaffold for my less able pupils. I generally find with these tasks their retention is better. I then use these. I love using these type of activities for starters and plenaries too when we’re progressing to full sentences or fully written pieces. Resource contains a PowerPoint lesson for revising the Present Tense in Spanish. It can also be adapted to be used as a lesson to introduce the same topic. It contains notes on formation of the tense, a worksheet that accompanies the lesson and also a selection of note sheets. This resource contains all you need to write a letter in Spanish to Father Christmas. The first activity asks students to make a list of all the things they want for Christmas. (Have dictionaries ready for students who need some extra help). The second activity is matching exercise with all the necessary phrases that students can adapt to help them write their letter. It's nice to watch students discover the vocabulary themselves as opposed to looking at a PowerPoint and writing everything down in a vocabulary book. The first is a Bingo game, using Christmas vocabulary (See my display resource for that vocabulary) The second is a puzzle where students need to orientate themselves through a puzzle. This can be done using directions. (One person is blind folded and they must direct their partner around the puzzle) Or this resource can be used as a simple starter. The third resource is a word search. Each activity focuses oral skills and new vocabulary. It's a lovely way to finish the term off and also a way to keep students engaged in their final lesson. This PowerPoint contains all you need to know about the Possessive Adjective in Irish. It contains three small activities the first of which focuses on students ability to discover the grammar rules for themselves. The PowerPoint covers rules for consonants and rules for vowels and an activity to practice learning for both. The final slide mentions a homework activity which is part of a work booklet. Simple display for days of the week in Spanish. I have a space on the top right hand corner of my board where the day and month are switched everyday. ( I am no longer asked. 'Miss whats the date?' twenty times a day!) Enjoy:)

Lovely lesson to introduce students to French! I usually use this at the start of each term with my students. It's nice to watch them discover all bout the culture and the language by themselves. I encourage them to research all about festivals & food. I generally find it is a lesson that they talk about and use as a frame of reference later on in the year.
